Ryan spent most of Father's Day barfing. But that's ok, because it meant that we got to take care of him for once. He's usually the one doing the taking care of. You know what I mean?
I hope he knows how much Lilly, Caleb and I love him. I'm pretty sure he knows how much Caleb loves him, because the kid can't keep it together whenever Ryan walks into the room. Lilly too--she loves him so much. She LOVES to go swimming with her daddy, and she loves to play Princess Leia (Lego Star Wars on the Xbox). Those are her two favorite things to do with Ryan lately.
As for my Dad? He's the most unselfish person I know. I wish I could be more like him. He's spent a lifetime making sure the people around him have everything they need before he worries about what he needs. He's sacrificed a lot--I hope he knows how much we love him.
Ryan spent Saturday at the US Open with Juice. They were the ones running from hole to hole and shouting things to the players that would get them to laugh or tip their hats. My dad and brother went yesterday. Had it not been a weekend dedicated to fathers, I might have insisted that I get a chance to walk Pebble Beach with the pros. Maybe next year--the Open will be at Congressional (DC), so we might have to plan our annual East Coast trip around that. Hmmm. We are dorky golf people around here.
Too bad we wasted all of yesterday afternoon watching Phil, Tiger, and friends hack it up. Oh well. Good for the dude from Northern Ireland!
We are on a countdown to Delaware. 6 days. We get on a plane on Saturday. I can hardly wait.
Gotta get to the gym. Maybe I can lose 30 pounds in 6 days?

thanks jen.
funny thing about cal is that he knows the guys in his family. he spots michael g (grandpa) from like a mile away. he knows juice already and loves him. that's what he gets for being around girls all day. we'll take him on our adventures soon enough.
wish i could kick this flu. or food poison. or whatever is laying me low. nothing more attractive than watching your husband retch on the floor of the bathroom. lovely.
Sorry about the illness, sounds awful.
You should definitely come to DC for the next US Open - there are several of us here and we'd love to have a reunion with you and your cute family!
I bet you can - they do it on The Biggest Loser. Totally achievable.
I am so jealous of your husband...walking Pebble Beach with the pros? Amazing. Something I vow to do before I die! It looked beautiful on tv.
I hope your vacation is idyllic. You deserve a wonderful break!
Seriously who was the Northern Ireland guy? Random.
I always like watching Ry be a dad. And this photo is such a good one of him that I hope it is blown up and framed next time we visit.
