We took our annual trek down to our local Home Depot last night to get our tree. I don't think we've ever had our tree this early in December before, but since we aren't traveling this year, I wanted to be able to decorate and enjoy it all for as long as possible.
Ryan met us at Home Depot where we promptly made our decision. It wasn't hard. Ryan decided it would be easier to transport a tree that hadn't been untied yet. So, we picked out our tree based solely on height and off we went. It was much easier than I had anticipated. I let it out of it's tie prison late last night and left it to relax. It turned out to be the perfect tree--just the right height and not too wide. Lilly and I love it. Good pick Ry!
I feel like I have "to do" items coming out of my eyeballs. I have to do some meticulous planning when it comes to running errands these days because Lilly doesn't chill in her stroller like she used to. Instead, she's learning that if you grab something from a store shelf, it will fall to the ground. Every time. She did this for the first time when we were in the grocery store last week. I had my head turned away from her (my first mistake) and next thing I knew, there were six bags of croutons on the floor. I'll be sure to keep a neutral place in the store aisles from now on. She's still not too keen on getting in and out of her car seat a bazillion times a day. And, I can't say I enjoy getting her in and out. Anyway, we are trying to make the most of our stops and utilize those lovely big box shopping centers that are killing small town America. I'd much rather be shopping Main Street somewhere, but last time I checked, Target wasn't welcome there.
On another note, I'm a bit disappointed with the first few episodes of this season's Project Runway. BORING is what comes to mind, actually. It better start getting better.
I went to the paint store last week and came home with five colors to choose from. I WILL choose from these five colors and no others. I'm determined to get this place painted this month.

That first photo of you two is really really cute.
Sometimes it's a trip seeing Lilly because she looks so much like Ry. I laughed out loud at the Home Depot Indiana Jones. That is classic.
Post pics of the finished project! And I can't wait to see your paint choices!
Cute picture. Yes. And how do you always have such flawless red lips? Jealous.
I bet shopping with Lilly is like shopping in NYC for me. Sort of. Because I walk everywhere, I have to be super strategic about when/how/where I shop. Especially for multiple errands (which seem to happen far too often as of late).
I agree- way cute pic of you and L. I am excited to see your tree in your house next week!
Lilly is getting so big! Such a cutie - and way to go on getting your tree up! The only reason ours is up is because it is fake. Lame - I miss the real thing!
