What I've eaten today...
banana
2 chocolate chip cookies
1 bottle of water (32 0z)
1/2 of a Diet Coke
About 10 bites of a turkey dinner plate with all the fixings
2 servings of spaghetti with homemade sauce (I made it)
1/2 cup of Ben & Jerry's strawberry cheesecake ice cream
mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows
I think I need to throw up now. I'm not sure how I consumed so much food today, but I did. And so much sugar!
Honestly, all the pasta I had for dinner is making me feel like a bloated seagull. Someone please pop me.
I haven't been home much the last few days and as a result, I haven't been online much. And, we are heading to SLC and Orange County for the holiday. I hope I get a chance to post.
As far as my adventure goes...
I feel a little petty and shallow for admitting this, but I have a friend who has a brother who works for Toys R US corporate. I had mentioned to my friend that if I could do it over, I would have just saved up and gotten the black bugaboo. It's what I wanted. Anyway, she called me the other day to tell me that her brother was in Sausalito (from NYC) for a management retreat and if I met him there, he could help me get the stroller of my dreams for more than half off the retail price.
This is where I get shallow and petty. And maybe a little materialistic. And selfish?
I already have a bugaboo. My awesome husband tracked it down for me and bought it from a friend on the cheap. But it was used. And a little beat up. We had to replace a tire and it still might need a little tune-up. I also have a perfectly good Peg Perego stroller that Ryan's parents purchased for us. The Peg is a good stroller, but after you've pushed the Bugaboo around, you don't want to go back. I assume it's like driving a Porsche around for a few weeks and then having to go and get in a Toyota Tercel. The Tercel is fine, it's great even, but it's certainly not a Porsche.
So, when the opportunity presented itself, I thought about it for a second and then decided to go for it. I packed Lilly up and we hit the road.
I had to get to Sausalito fast because my friend's brother had to catch a flight out of SFO at 3pm. I hit traffic, got lost once, and then hit more traffic, but we finally made it.
To make a long story short, I got the bugaboo.
And, I got a Maclaren Volo. For free.
The Toys R Us execs thought Lilly was cute, so they took her picture with the Maclaren and said they would chalk it up as a sales promotion. Whatever that means. All I know, is they made me a really happy woman that day.
I now have strollers coming out of my ears.

Jen! That's awesome!! I can't believe a) you got a bugaboo for more than half off and b) and a maclaren.
You are good. Best story, and totally worth the trip.
I'm glad you finally got your shiny new bugaboo, but I'm a little more excited that you got a Maclaren Volo for free! I love mine and I realize it's only an umbrella stroller, but who cares? It's the best I've strolled (though I haven't pushed the bugaboo, can I try yours out?). Congrats.
What color Volo? You'd think I was talking about a Volvo...
I know, it's lame that I'm so excited. The Volo is black.
I want a bugaboo!! Wait. I need something else first...
What an amazing stroller day. Lucky you.
Everyone else commented on the strollers but I have to comment on the food- was that really a lot to eat? I must have a huge stomach. And where was the breakfast? And please tell me you consumed more water in one day than just one water bottle..
you are amazing! it sounds like an incredibly successful adventure.
What? That stroller story is crazy awesome. I've just barely realized the importance of an easy umbrella stroller like the Volo. Maybe someday I can get one, maybe not. I want to try out one of these bugaboos of yours. I've never pushed one before.
awesome!!!!
Ok seriously.....JEALOUS! I dream about having a bugaboo! Ok so when you are ready for a double jogger stroller, I have to tell you I LOOOOVE mine! I am sure you have seen or even driven one. It is the Phil and Ted Sport. I got one when we had Cole and it is a dream! I should probably go jogging with it huh.... nah, why start now!?!
