Honestly, nothing is going on around here...

(This was NOT us today. First of all, neither one of us were that happy. And secondly, I'd NEVER wear those shoes. p.s. I have no idea what she has in her hand? )

I've been hesitant to post until I have something new to report, or until I have some current photos to post, but I have neither and so here I am.

We've been watching the news coverage and waiting anxiously to hear that Missy, Devin, and Avery are ok and that their condo is still standing after they were evacuated on Monday. They are ok and back at home. The fires are threatening parts of Orange County that are awfully close to Ryan's parents house and to Meggan's house too, but it looks like they will be spared the mandatory evacuations and the fires won't get to them. Thank goodness.

Lilly HATES her stroller. And her carseat. Today was an especially BAD day. I had a ton of errands to run and so you can imagine how fun it was to have to take her out of the carseat (which she appreciated), put her in her stroller (which she DID NOT appreciate), and then put her back in her carseat (which she REALLY DIDN'T appreciate). I had to do this about six times today and she was bugged. So bugged, in fact, that she cried like she's never cried before--each time we went through the process. I feel bad for her, I do, BUT, we have things to do. We have errands to run and she is going to have to learn to love her stroller. And her carseat. I'm sorry, but she is. She weighs 20. 2 pounds ( I put her on the scale at the gym) and I can only carry her for a bit until it just gets to be too much. And, it's impossible to be an efficient shopper while holding her. I'm sure I'm missing all kinds of deals in an effort to be in each place for as few minutes as possible. The bjorn is quickly becoming a thing of the past. She's just too big.

She got into her first fight yesterday. An older and much bigger girl--like two years old--pinched her on the check and tried to bite her arm while Lilly was in the swing. Miranda, the little bully, has a record and if she gets written up one more time, she's banned from the gym's childcare. Of course I was upset, but I was also thinking to myself that Lilly could turn out just like little Miranda. I mean, who's to say? Toddlers are funny creatures. Anyway, I had to fill out an incident report and call the gym later in the day to give them an update on her condition. She's fine. I think it just scared her more than anything. I'm not ready to stop taking her to the gym because of it. It's playground warfare--she's getting a head start and so I expect her to be able to hold her own come preschool.

I changed my blog design. Well...I stole a new design from some website. I have to go back and add all my widgets in some time soon. Until then, enjoy the minimalism.

Jerk Miranda. NOBODY bites Lilly (we better keep her away from Dylan. He bites in self-defense. I almost can't blame him! He has two older girls always bugging him).

Dylan went through a phase with hating the carseat and stroller too. I think it might take getting used to. The more you do it, the better it gets. Dylan loves both his now.

I saw fires on the top of the hill above our church tonight. It's getting closer and school was cancelled tomorrow. Ugh.

love the new design!

at first mady loved her car seat - now, more often then not, she screams. I read on a website that you should "put them in the car seat while they are at home so they will get used to it." hmmm... I don't know about you, but listening to her scream at home as WELL as whenever you are trying to run errands is not my idea of fixing the problem.

Ave hated the carseat for the first four months of her life. Actually, I think it was the car, not the carseat b/c she didn't mind being in it at home. I think they get used to it.

I like the new design.
