30 years in the making...

I turned 30 years old yesterday. Here I am just minutes after my mom gave birth to me. Crazy to think that she was just 21 in this picture! She had four kids by the time she was 27. Anyway, time has passed since this photo was taken--a lot of time--and now it's my turn to see what I can contribute to the world. I don't feel 30, so I'm ok with turning it, I guess.

Thanks to everyone who called, wrote, emailed, blogged, etc. It was so nice of you all to think of me--and most of the lovely things you said about me were much, much too generous. I'm really not that great. Really.

I had a great day. Ryan and I went here for facials and massages and while I LOVE getting facials, Ryan said he felt like he was being tortured. His esthetician told him his pores were clogged and therefore expanding and now he has little holes on his face. Bummer. He won't be going back for a facial. I'm addicted to them. I've decided that I'd much rather spend money on a spa treatment than a new pair of shoes. As a birthday gift, the owner of the spa gave me 1/2 off my next service! I'm very excited about this unexpected gift and I plan on going back for a honey dip after the baby is born. I'm all about being dipped in honey. Awesome. I've decided that working as an esthetician would be my second choice for careers. What would be cooler than working in calm, serene spa all day? You don't even have to talk to your clients! I'm thinking about looking into it.

After our early morning spa treatments, we headed over to our favorite greasy spoon for breakfast, and then over to Ry's new office downtown for a little organizing. I spent the afternoon napping and woke up just in time to get ready for dinner at my favorite restaurant in Sacramento. It was a great day--a perfect day. Thank-you to Ryan for footing the bill!

Birthdays are fun.

Jen! It sounds like you had a great day. I'd love a honey wrap as well. That sounds divine.
I'm glad you had a great day. We were thinking of you and talked about how glad we are that you are part of the family. You're just fun to be around and make life more complete. Glad you had a good day.

I just blew up the picture Jen and you were such a beautiful newborn. Such blonde hair from the beginning. Your baby girl might come out totally blonde. That's exciting.

And, you are the cutest baby ever. You have your moms shape eyes I think. I can't wait to see your little girl. I totally think she is going ot have blonde hair like you!
