Road trip...

I'm going on a road trip with my mom tomorrow. Here's another picture of us--it was taken in May of 1977. Who knows where we are.

We are driving to Vegas so she can talk at some conference and so we can visit my brother, Christian, and my sister, Brianne. It should be a fun time. After a few days in Vegas, we are headed up I-15 to visit my other sister, Shannon. She's at BYU suffering through her last few semesters. As much as I loathe the weather in and all around the state of Utah, I'm looking forward to seeing Shannon. We always have a good time when we are together. Plus, I haven't been to Provo since before Ryan and I got married and I'm hoping to see a few friends while I'm out there.

Road trips are cool. Not so cool when you are almost 8 months pregnant. We'll see how it goes. I'm taking lots of healthy snacks and hoping I can keep the peeing down to at least once an hour, or at least I'd like to avoid peeing on the side of I-5 and try to keep it to rest stops and the occasional McDonald's.

I purchased Nora Ephron's book, I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts on Being a Woman from the audio books on iTunes. I heard it's very funny and I thought it would be fun for my mom and I to listen to it together. Nora Ephron wrote When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, and You've Got Mail--just to name a few. She's a funny lady and I'm guessing her book is funny too.

So, we're on the road bright and early tomorrow morning. I'll post from Vegas.

Have fun Jen! I read on your mom's blog that you were taking a roadtrip. At eight months pregnant, it will be exciting to read what you have to say about it all. I'm sure you'll have fun. It will be a great memory for you two and you'll probably have good talks with your mom. Tell her and your brother and sisters hi from us.

Jen has that look like, "Uhh. I don't like this. Can we just sit me back down, please."
