Floaty kisses

Me: Who wants to go home and have Mac n' Cheese? Cal: I do!
Remember when I said that the next time Ryan went to Chicago I would go too? Well, that didn't work out because he's there and I'm not. Dare I say, maybe next time? Maybe? Please let it happen.
The issues I had last week (read: pests), are all but gone. There is a rat trap in my garage, but we'll just pretend it's not there. Except I have to glance at it as I'm pulling my car into the garage. And when I pull out of the garage. That's lame. I'd rather not be able to see it, but I'm too chicken to touch the empty trap, so it stays where it is. The good news is that my shower is as good as new. Hip, hip, hooray! If you've never heard of bio cleaners, go research them. I can't believe how well it cleaned my shower door tracks and my drains. I also put it in my garbage cans and I swear you could eat off of them now (still, gross). And, it smells like oranges. And, it's a green product. Anyway, I'm tired of talking about it, so I'm moving on.
I'm almost done with my dresser makeover. I just need to finish cleaning the hardware and line the drawers with some pretty paper. I wasn't going to line the drawers, but I think it will help it feel more polished. It's taken me forever to finish because I can't do any of it when the kids are around--they want to "help." So, it's been a few nights here and there and now that it's getting darker earlier, I have to fit in a bit when Ryan has them at the pool. But, it's so close to being done and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I wish Emily Henderson could come to my house and help me style it (along with my entire house). I love her and I'm so impressed by her talent. HGTV has finally gotten smart and decided to cater to the Domino (RIP) obsessed peeps out there.
I took the kids to DI today. My kids have a lot of fun at thrift stores--Lilly says we are going to the treasure hunt store. We found a few treasures and I found a new project--just a little one. As soon as I get the dresser done, I'll start the next project. And then I'll focus on saving some money for new bedding, paint, and the daunting floor project. Wood! I'm doing wood. I know what kind of wood I need and I know what I want, so now I just have to find it for the best price. Fun. Not really. Owning a home is hard work.
Lilly has had some issues with the potty since she started school. She won't go on the potty at school, so she holds it until she gets home. She had an accident last week and STILL won't sit on the potty at school. AND, she refuses to sit on any of the "big" potties here at home and will only sit on her little, yellow potty. I knew that stupid little potty would come back to haunt me. I forgot to put a pull-up on her one night over the weekend and she woke up at 2am in her own pee. That was fun. And she's had a few accidents here at home because she's upstairs and refuses to sit on a big potty and her little potty is too far--she's gotta go. I'm trying not to get frustrated with her, but it feels like she's taken 10 steps back! She's doing the potty dance everywhere we go and refusing to sit on strange potties. In Miss Ruthie's words, "All we can do is keep trying."
Caleb has mastered floaties in the pool. It's crazy to see his little body just swimming around. He just gets right in and swims away--all 22 pounds of him! I have photos and video to prove it. He also does this funny thing when you ask a question like, "Who wants to go to the pool?" He raises his hand and says, "I do." It's so cute I could spit. We have a lot of photos from the pool, don't we? That's because we are there almost every day. Tough life we live, huh?

We went to the pool this afternoon too! Chloe went swimming off just like Cal. Wish we could have done it together!
I am dying to see your dresser renovation. Hopefully by the weekend? I am sure it will look great.
Miss Ruthie's words made me smile. She sounds great.
Oh! Glad all the pests are gone.
Max still won't swim alone with water wings. Obviously we don't spend enough time in the pool.
I just re-did two dressers in my house this past week. They needed new/different poly coatings. The spray is crap, so I started over with an old-fashioned brush and can of poly and it turned out magical. I'm excited to see your end results.
You are so much braver than I would be with your bug problems. Way to go in getting rid of them. I'm for sure going to check out some bio cleaner.
Honestly, potty training is the worst. Just when I thought Mady was golden she does something crazy. Will it ever end??
OMG. Get these kids up here NOW!!! So cute.
What is the brand of the bio cleaner you used? I need to do my shower tracks too.
Try getting one of those padded potty seats to go on the big potty and a stool to rest her feet on. My kids do that for a long while!
