Shaggy?

My hair is getting really long. And consequently, I'm worried that it could be too long--too shaggy. I hardly ever have it down, so it's hard to tell just how long it is, but trust me, it's long. The longest it's ever been IN MY WHOLE LIFE. Really, I've never had hair this long. At this point, it's turned into a game and now I want to see just how long I can get it. Maybe FLDS long? No, that's gross.

Remember when I had bangs? They were fun. For a few months. Then it got hot and I couldn't stand the feeling of having something touching my forehead all day long. My drawers are stocked with bobby pins again and it feels good, familiar, safe.

I'm getting ready to rip up the carpet downstairs. We will probably be living on nothing but a concrete slab for a few months, but I figure it can't be worse than what we have now. Can it? I'm obsessing over white floors lately. I really, really want white floors. Now, most people get white floors by painting over beat up (or just fine) wood floors. I don't have wood floors, and so my only way to white floors would be to paint my concrete slab. Which I'm seriously considering. Glossy white. And come to think of it, I'd much prefer the smooth look of the painted concrete to the "Shabby Chic" of the painted wood. It will take a Herculean effort, but I think I can do it. If I managed to pull it off, the feel of my house would drastically change. For the better, I think. Let me show you...(I'm too lazy to post credits now, but I will...)

This floor is not white, but I'm obsessed...

cool Jen, you should totally do it.

I want really long hair, but I keep getting pregnant which makes it grow in all nasty for 9 months so I keep having to chop it off.

I want to see your hair down! I bet it looks awesome. We need a girls dinner out so you can sport the long hair!
I like the floor idea and have been thinking about it off and on since you dropped this idea. Something to consider... when you "scrub" the floors, will the paint come off the concrete? What kind of special bonding paint to you need to ensure it stays on? It might need a more toxic kind of paint. And... you thinking of doing this yourself?

I'm trying to grow my hair out too! Keep it long - it looks pretty and by Fall when it cools down you will probably wear it down more. You sport the shaggy look well, of course! The side sweep bangs are pretty.

I looove that bathroom floor. I would totally do that in my house (when I get one, of course).

That would be really cool. I'm not a mod person myself in terms of decorating, but I can appreciate a glossy, glazed , sleek concrete floor. I don't know if I would want white floors anywhere in my house with two kids though. You could see every speck of dirt or crumb or every footprint.

I know...the clean factor is a real bummer with white--white anything for that matter. After talking with my decorator friend, I'm now thinking stained concrete--still modern, but not so stark. I'm worried it might be too industrial for my taste (and our modest condo) though. Ugh.

I need unlimited funds, time, and reputable contractors--it's the only way.

Industrial can be softened up with cool rugs though, right? It could be a fun mix, I think. I like the idea (although white floors scare me a little bit - but concrete I like).

That bathroom is dreamy.

And I like your bangs. Side-swept is a good in between, although I find that they always drive me nuts. So it's all or nothing for me, & lately (for 2 years??) it's been "all". I have a huge forehead. What can I say.
