California goes country...

We went to the California State Fair on Friday night. Our yearly fair-going tradition started way back when. We went for the first time a few weeks after Ryan and I got married. We've been every year since. We still go with "our people" from those days--Dan, Aveena, and Kellie. It wouldn't be the same without them. And sadly, with how busy everyone has gotten, it's become one of maybe two times we all see each other in a year.

We've got it down to a science. We meet at the motocross exhibit, head down past the lemonade stand, stop at the BBQ pit for some corn and tri-trip, check out the animals, play in the corn, ride the carousel, and then round out the loop with food on sticks and Kellie and Ryan's favorite ride--the one that goes upside down and all around. Admittedly, we do miss a lot of other cool fair attractions, but we've got our favorites covered, at least.

The kids had a lot of fun this year. Lilly threw a major fit when we were leaving, so that was evidence that she had a good time. Cal was smiles and finger-pointing and uh'ing at everything, so it seems he was into it too.

I was doing great until I had a few too many bites of the cinnamon roll.

Right after our yearly photo booth shoot. We can't have anymore kids--we won't fit.

I love how Caleb is eyeing the cinnamon roll...

She was determined to get the goat to cooperate. Things got a little dicey right after I snapped this...

Fitting right in with the fair couture...

Cutest photo of you & L. Could you be any more tan + pretty? I think not.

And are those sweet potato fries? Be still my beating heart.

What a fun tradition. Hopefully you can continue for many years. I agree, that photo of you and Lily is precious and should be framed immediately.

These are the greatest photos. Everyone looks so happy. I'm laughing so hard right now at Lilly holding that goats face. Determined little girl right?

Seriously, everyone does look tan and pretty and happy. State fair, gotta love it.

I always love seeing your photobooth photos on the fridge.
