We had a great time at Reed and Ashley's wedding. We were able to spend some quality time with our people--Lon and Jen. Love them.
The bride is a make-up artist/salon owner and the groom has practiced law in D.C. and LA. So, the scene was very fashion forward and hip. I was definitely under dressed. But I couldn't compete, and so I didn't even try. In fact, I didn't really care. What I'm trying to say is that there was some awesome people/outfit watching.

And this trip to SLC solidified something for me. Most (not all!) Utahns have a California complex. You'd think California was Heaven the way they talk about it. And they all know someone who lives here, or they used to live here themselves. It was weird the way everything kept coming back to California.
It's not that great. It's expensive. And the state will be bankrupt before we know it.
And not everybody in California lives on the beach. Look at a map for goodness sakes.
I'm going to try to redeem my frumpy wedding outfit this Friday. We are going to the Amgen Gala courtesy of Ryan's job. It's black tie optional, which leaves me a little wiggle room in the glam department. However, after my poor showing last weekend, I'm indeed wearing black this time. And lots of make-up.

Their wedding photo is sort of unreal. I definitely wouldn't have fit in.

There is totally something about Cali that Utahns love. I remember thinking that at BYU - every student was so quick to trace themselves back to California somehow. Funny funny.

But, their wedding photo looks like a shot out of InStyle. I would have loved it...I'm such a people watcher, jaw open and all.
