How do you solve a problem like Maria?

Lilly and I watched The Sound of Music yesterday while I was cleaning. And I've had Do Re Miin my head ever since.

Cleaning. Oh man. I started at 11:30 am and DID NOT stop until 7:00PM. My legs were sore when I went to bed last night. How pathetic is that?

It did not take me seven and a half hours because my house was abnormally dirty. It took me that long because I'm still trying to work out a cleaning system (read: clean fast and effectively). And because I have to feed my kids. And bathe them. And stop them from swallowing $1.24 in change.

It did feel really good to sit down and look around at my nice clean house when I was done. But man, I was beat.

Rewind to our weekend.

Wow.

What a fabulous time we had being together as a family. I LOVE watching my kids play with their cousins--it makes me love them a little bit more. I've learned that Lilly is a little bossy? No, maybe it's more like overbearing? She really wanted to play particular things with Avery and sometimes Avery wasn't down with Lilly's plan. I found myself having to tell Lilly to give Avery a little space. She wasn't like that with just Avery, come to think of it. She was all over Missy, Devin, and Kevin too. But I guess it was an indication that she was having a really great time. I can accept that.

I don't even know where to start.

Oh wait. My sunglasses.

I lost them.

At some ridiculous pizza planet type place out in Roseville. We decided that a dinner out to celebrate Juice's birthday would be more fun (less work) if we went somewhere the kids would enjoy. It was Chuck E. Cheese x 100. It was more fun to watch how the kids reacted to the chaos of the place. It scared Lilly--she had never seen anything like it. Devin managed to figure out how to manipulate the Claw game and we ended up with plastic dinosaurs for everyone!

Missy ran her race and made her goal. That girl is amazing. She ran 13.1 MILES in ONE HOUR AND 39 MINUTES. Do you know how fast that is?

Fast.

And that was after two nights (at least) of no sleep. I don't know how she does it. But it's inspiring.

I'm going to go do something active right now.

These are great posts, Jen. I am envious of your weekend with cousins and siblings. It truly is the best time, huh? What great memories. I have to send you the video of Charlotte singing do-re-mi. Show tunes are big in my family and Charlotte loves them. She learned do-re-mi at school and little did she know the songs of Sound of Music have been a staple in our family since I was a kid. We love it.

I love all your pictures. So great. Cousins playing with cousins are the best.

I cannot believe you can stay that focused when cleaning! I do like an hour and I'm over it...
