Running...

We went out today to get some sun. The clouds parted this afternoon and so we headed to the...get ready for this....

The dog park.

We don't have a dog. And we have no plans to get a dog.

But, my kids love animals so much. And Caleb gets so excited when he sees dogs.

The dog park by our house has two gates--one for small dogs and one for large dogs. The small dog side was more our style. I was able to put Caleb on the ground and let the little puppies go to town on him. I didn't care and he loved every second of it. I wish I would have had my camera with me--but, I was in minimalist mode.

Lilly wanted to run on the path. She ran in front of us and then we she stopped, she would pretend to wipe the sweat from her brow and say, "That was hard work." She was pretty cute today.

We did venture over to the "large" dog side of the park. Despite my attempts to keep Lilly from getting jumped on by the big dogs, a muddy golden retriever wanted to give her a few licks. She laughed and said, "That dog is so silly, it spit on me." And then she said, "It's nose is running." I had to laugh out loud at that one. She felt saliva on her skin and instantly assumed the dog had a runny nose. Awesome.

Wow, Mady would have flipped out if a large dog had licked her. Sounds like your kids are a lot braver than mine. Cute story!

Your Easter pictures are gorgeous! Lil is already a runner...love it!
Very courageous of them and the dogs. There's a few little ones I hang out with for the past few years and they still haven't met Sandy. Too freaked out about it.

i love that you headed for the dog park. like the zoo, but better because you can pet the animals.

dog park? GENIUS. What a great idea...you get the thrill of the dog, but you don't have to take care of it.

Lilly's hair is getting SO long. I love it -- all whimsy and curling at the ends.
