Lilly went through 6 pairs of panties and didn't actually pee in the potty once.
She did pee in the parking lot at the gym though. Right after I spent a good 15 minutes trying to get her to sit on the little potty in the play room before we left.
What am I doing wrong? I feel so defeated. I've decided to stay consistent though and NOT put her back in pull-ups. Well, this was my plan until she threw a major fit because she wanted to go poop and was not about to sit on the potty for that.
But, besides the poop thing, I'm sticking with it. I'll put her in a pull-up for her naps and right before bed, but that's it. The rest of the day, it's panties and I'm hoping that she'll eventually get tired of the pee running down her leg and decide to sit on the damn potty.
I've tried all possible bribes...nothing works. Just in case you were thinking, "Bribe her."
She also didn't nap today, so that made for a really fun afternoon and bed time. Think: Major meltdowns.
Caleb. Sweet Caleb. He has teeth coming in everywhere, so he's a little grouchy too.
And then, to top the day off, my washing machine decided to go on the fritz. Mid wash. So, it's full of water and clothes--mostly princess panties, but whatever.
Tomorrow's a new day!
I haven't taken my camera out of its case once this month. That's horrible. Why am I so lazy about certain things?

I have no parenting advice (clearly), but persevere! She'll get there I'm sure. And hopefully your mom friends will leave lots of really insightful comments.
The cousin photo below is precious. I wish I had cousins (that I was close to - mine are all [6 of them] really strange people).
I hate potty training. It has seriously made me recondsider how many kids I am going to have. Mady is totally resisting, too. I feel like a horrible parent....it shouldn't be this hard, right? Just know - you are not alone!!
My hardest potty trainer ever was Ede. She just would not get it. She could care less about being wet and I think the total amount of time it took for her to stay dry consistenly was 3 months. BUT, she got it! So, there's hope at least.
But I understand. Right now I'm going knotzie on Lila and absolutely will not get her out of her bed until it's 630 am. And if she wants to cry or sleep through her naps, it's up to her. But she's stayin' in her crib!
Sometimes they just need some tough love. I guess?
Good luck! Keep trying... if it works, I'm SO happy for you and I may follow suit. Jack is NOT interested in the least to poop in the potty. He will NOT! It's so frustrating!! We've tried the bribes too! He saw this light saber at Target that cost $35.. he totally wants it. Jared said he'd buy it for him if he pooped in the potty (and Jared HATES the thing). Jack talks about it all the time, still no poop. What do you do?
Oh, the poop might come way later. I would just throw away the underwear unless it was a very "clean" poop and I could just dump the blob in the toliet. If she asks for a pull-up to poop, I would give that to her, but then put her right back in panties.
Good luck!
i do not like potty training. i've got no tips, because it sounds like you are doing it all right. i just think consistency (and bribery) is key.
no napping days make for VERY long days,
hang in there.
Hi Jen!
Gosh I feel for you. It is all slowly coming together for us in potty training land but Char is six months older than Lilly. Be patient, as hard as it is. We finally were able to be on vacation and not run out to the local target to buy a tiny pink potty for her. She instigated sitting on the regular potty on her own. Until she gets to the point where she is mortified to be wet, it will be tough. Lilly is probably as frustrated as you and senses the tension. Find things to keep yourself busy (these awesome shirts you describe???) so that you spend less time thinking about her not sitting on the potty.
In the meantime, let's hang out. We're missing us some time with you guys!
Hang in there mamma! I remember those days like they were yesterday. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to rip my hair out and scream at the top of my lungs. Too many.... BUT... it WILL get better. Promise.
Mindy
How did I miss this post? I took Dylan to Disneyland with my girls and me today and couldn't help but miss that Lilly (and you!) so much. Even if she isn't wanting to go on the potty.
I have no advice either. Potty training is hard.
