Ahhh yeah...a new year. It feels so nice. I could care less that January is the bleakest, foggiest, most dismal month of the year. And I could sorta care less that I turn another year older this month. All I really care about is that January means we get to start over!
2010 is going to be a fabulous year. Have I already said that? I don't know what it is, but I can just feel it. I'm looking forward to so many things. Here are a few...
1. Getting Caleb off my boobs. I'm done. He's not. It's gonna be tricky.
2. Finally getting my body back...I mean it this time.
3. Paying down (and off!) some big debt.
4. Working on making our house more of our home.
5. Getting Lilly potty trained. Ugh.
6. Getting all binkies out of our house.
I'll stop there. I recently read somewhere that if you are a list maker (which I am), it is best to keep lists to no more than seven items--that way you never get overwhelmed. I can understand the logic, but I don't think whoever said this was dealing with potty training, binkie banishing, and putting an end to baby on the breast. Those are really big things, y'all.
And about that Caleb boy. He's killing me right now. He's just the sweetest baby ever. Still. He loves everything about his life it seems. He loves to sleep, he loves to laugh and play with his sister, he loves that he learned how to drink out of his sippy. He's happy all day long. It makes my days that much more enjoyable.
Lilly too. She's fun. Today, while I was getting my gym clothes on and brushing my teeth, she told me I was gorgeous. I have no idea where she learned it, but it made me smile. She's very into putting on my make-up (lip gloss everywhere but her lips) and making sure Cal is accounted for.
And Ryan has got her all amped up about playing Lego Star Wars on the XBox. She looks forward to it all day. Ryan's in heaven.
Am I embarrassed that I'm bummed I finished the Twilight books and now I have nothing to look forward to before bed?
Maybe.
I put off reading the I-could-have-written-those-books long enough and now that I'm done, I miss Edward and Bella.
I need to go read the New Yorker--remind myself that I have some smarts...

Devaughn finished "Lego Star Wars" with Grayson. Then they moved on to Indiana Jones and now NHL. Gray isn't much of a "gamer" kid but LOVES doing it with his Dad, which I find really cute.
Do you plan do banish binkies for Caleb too or just Lilly?
Good luck with your goals, I feel like I have a lot of the same ones.
I love your blog. I miss you.
tell me you will update when you choose the flooring.
I laughed out loud when you said you were "maybe" embarrassed about being sad Twilight was over. And then I read it out loud to Devin.
Still need to read the final book.
I love your list! I have getting Jack potty trained and off binki's AND into a toddler bed on my list and it's starting to feel hopeless. I have NO idea how I'm going to do any of those things. Good luck to you and let me know how it goes. I'm afraid those things won't be checked off my list for a long LONG time...
P.S. I love reading your blog.
