(Playing "shopping")
It's pouring rain here today. And guess what? We are watching Sleeping Beauty. Again. Again. Again. I guess it's better than some of my other options.
We had a perfect holiday. I should have been better about posting some of our activities, but I'm just grateful I made it through December (almost!) without a major meltdown. Ryan might argue that, but I know I made it.
We hosted Christmas here and I can't believe how nice it was to not have to go anywhere! As much as we love visiting our family in Orange County, it was so nice to not have to pack anything up, hustle through the airports, and wish for our beds back home. My parents and brother came down, my sister flew in from Phoenix, and I cooked! That's right. Lasagna, breakfast casserole, prime rib, French breakfast puffs. It was fun, but by the end of it all, I was exhausted.
Our first year of playing Santa was a success. Maybe too successful? I went WAY overboard and it wasn't until I was pulling everything out of the garage and getting ready to start my wrapping party that I saw just how overboard I had gone. I put away a lot of stuff for Lilly's birthday in March--that's how bad it was. Christmas is much more fun with kids in the mix.
I'm ready to say good riddance to 2009. I feel like it's time for it to go. It wasn't a horrible year, but it sure did suck the life out of me (us). I've decided that 2010 is going to be my year. I'm going to become a better (healthier) me, a better mom, a better wife, a better sister and daughter. And I'm still going to work on returning emails and phone calls promptly.

Congrats on successfully hosting Christmas! That's big. I feel exhausted after just cooking christmas eve for my little fam of 4!
Christmas is so much fun with kids. love that you went so overboard you saved gifts for her birthday.
It was a lovely holiday! I'm still recuperating from the muffins and can taste the delicious prime rib. I've already made three recipes from my new cookbook you gave me!!
I love to be with family but am jealous you didn't have to travel this holiday season. I am really. really looking forward to it for my own little family in the next few years.
The food sounds so good. So good. I loved not having to leave our house either! We stayed in our pajamas until 3:30...
We saved one present for Valentine's Day. Shouldn't we get presents for every holiday? Lilly is adorable playing "shopping" - that is a pretend game I could get used to!
