The last few days have been long ones. Lilly has been trying my patience. She has good intentions, but she's being a bit rough with Caleb--trying to pick him up, ride him like a horsey, and force feed him her goldfish. I spend a lot of the day making sure she isn't unintentionally (of course) torturing him.

Today is her last day of antibiotics. Thank goodness. It's been a struggle, and I'm not sure it even worked. She hasn't wanted Ryan to give her baths lately. He usually does the bath time routine while I eat my dinner in peace. Not this week. I hope it's a phase because by the time bath time rolls around, I'm in desperate need of a small break.
She woke up this morning in a bad mood. I was feeding Caleb in the rocking chair and I hear her screaming. That's how she wakes up every morning--screaming for me. It's a great way to start the day. I need to figure out a way to change her wake-up call, I think. It's making me crazy. I wish she would wake up singing, or reciting poetry. Wouldn't that be lovely? Even if she were singing princess songs...anything would be better than her shrill cries. Anyway, she threw a tantrum because she wanted to go downstairs and I wasn't ready to do that quite yet. She hit me. She hit Caleb. She cried like she had just lost her best friend. She had only been up for, oh, five minutes. It was 7:15 in the morning. Here we go.
We are going to be spending most of the day outside. I think she needs to run off some of her energy. And, I could use the sun therapy.
Do you have any idea how many times we have watched Sleeping Beauty? Many, many times.
Many.
I feel like my life is full of abrupt, short sentences. That's why I write like I do. It's too taxing to try to come up with long, eloquent sentences.
I need to wash my hair.
I'm trying to turn myself into a runner. We'll see how it goes. I know...it's always something with me.

Lenny looks really comfortable
Ohhhh me too on the runner! I went so far as to buy new shoes! And we bought a Chariot Cougar double stroller/bike thing. We had a single. Maneuvering the double (with the fixed wheel) with both kids in it and jogging at the same time... um... close to impossible. I have great intentions of doing the 4 mile loop with both girls on days Charlotte has pre-school (drop off and pick up which would be 8 miles). We are so on the same wave length right now.
Charlotte has been giving me a lot of mornings, afternoons and evenings that sound like sweet, adorable, loving Lilly. At least we know both are truly sweet girls... the somewhat ugliness MUST be a temporary phase. Blame it on the gym! ha ha ha
I hope there are good moments sprinkled in with the bad.
And wow, your little man is so adorable.
oh my gosh. sign up for the turkey trot. dana point. FLAT. 5K. I am registered and dev is babysitter. I think my in-laws are doing it too. Get on that tonight. Need the link?
Those morning are rough. Fits within the first 15 minutes...ouch.
Can we get Lill and Ave together for a Sleeping Beauty date over Thanksgiving?
(look at my blog - IT came!!)
I'm laughing in empathy. I totally have been/am there. It's always something - Georgia trying to pick up Graham, drag him into her room to "play" with him, pushing him when he gets too close to her toys, etc. etc.
Of course there are they really sweet moments too when she talks and talks to him like he has any clue what she's saying - just narrating the day and her activities - but those other times are so trying.
And the morning screaming. I feel your pain on that one too. Every morning (except it's at 6 a.m. sharp over here) we're awakened by Georgia standing at her bedroom door yelling "Mommy!" Sometimes she sprinkles in other fun stuff like "I'm happy!" (it doesn't seem to matter if I'M happy at 6 a.m.) or "My alarm clock is singing to me!" (it never is) but the point is we don't ever EASE into the morning with a soft knock at our bedroom door or anything. Lol.
