Kids get sick...

I blame the fact that Lilly was born in March--during the height of cold season. By the time she was six months old she had probably already had four major colds. One of them hit her lungs pretty bad and I'm sure that's why she's so susceptible to chest colds now.

She had a cold this past week. Thursday night she woke up in the midst of a minor asthma attack. I gave her a breathing treatment and she finally fell asleep around 3am. I love the nebulizer. And, I think that albuterol stuff is great too. I felt bad that it took me so long to figure out she probably needed the stuff--I think I was half asleep. But, as soon as she started breathing the stuff in, her breathing slowed and she calmed down.

Needless to say, we spent a lot of time inside last week. We only made it to the gym once, and so now I'm feeling gross--grosser than the normal pregnant gross. I stared at my legs in the mirror last night and I'm convinced there are a few new dimples that weren't there last week. I've only gained 14 lbs so far (knock on wood), but whatever...I still feel icky. Soft.

Being inside all week forced me to clean my baseboards, fans, and I tried to cook a few times. You know, normal stay-at-home mom stuff.

I have an anterior placenta this pregnancy. So, I have to go in for another big ultrasound. My OB referred me to a perinatal specialist and so I'm waiting for that office to call. According to my doctor, there is nothing to worry about and it has more to do with whether or not they'll be able to use the same c-section incision as last time. Not possible if the placenta is in the way. I guess I'll have scars criss-crossing my belly. That's awesome...although totally worth it if I get a cuddly newborn out of it. I'm pretty sure my bikini wearing days are far, far behind me.

I can't believe what a difference a few weeks makes in terms of the baby's movements. I feel him like crazy all the time now. Usually when I'm trying to fall asleep.

That's it?! And you are halfway? Wow. That's good.

Hope Lilly feels better.

On another note - I bought that Goodnight California book after you wrote about it on your blog and anytime we come to the Sacramento capital page, Avery says "Baby Lilly lives in Sacramento..." It's cute. I want them to get together again soon, but we won't be up there 'til May.

Can you post more "favorites" on your blog b/c I seem to buy everything you put up there what with the books and the tanks...

I didn't know that Lilly had breathing/asthama problems. poor girl. poor you. i'm glad you've found something that works.

I'm so excited for you to have a boy. And for Lilly, because I bet she'll love him.
