It's starting to cool off, but we are still having temps in the 80's--not cool enough for me yet. We did spend most of the weekend outside and it was delightful. My parents came down Saturday and we headed down to Old Sac and the carousel at the Downtown Plaza. Sunday we watched tidbits of General Conference and then headed to the zoo and Fairytale Town. It was a great day.
This is my 586th post on my blog. I've been blogging for what seems like forever. Really. I started this project in July of 2005. That's over 3 years of blogging, people. Granted, some weeks I've blogged more than others, but still.
I don't feel like my blog has evolved as much as it should. My life has definitely changed dramatically, but my blog has pretty much stayed the same. I haven't added too many new blogging friends to my list, although I feel like I've met some great people through this experiment. I do check A LOT more websites than I have listed on my sidebar, but who has time to sit and copy and paste all those web addresses? Not me. At least not before I watch the shows I've tivo'd and possibly taken a nap.
I guess what I'm getting at here is that I have priorities and blogging has slipped pretty far down the ranks. I wish I were more regular with my postings, but I hate feeling like I MUST post today. And really, some days, I'm just too lazy to sit down and punch the keys. Isn't that horrible? Too tired to even type. There are days when I don't even check my email. Travesty, I know. But, I'm also thinking about getting rid of my cell phone, so you can sorta guess what kind of person you're dealing with here.
Things that are bugging me lately:
1) I have a new and very expensive version of Photoshop on my Mac--do you think I use it?
2) Our new health insurance plan is refusing to cover name brand drugs--fine, but what do we do when there is no generic available?
3) I have quite a few things I need to have professionally framed.
4) I have a garage cabinet full of Nutri-System food. (Don't ask!)
5) Lilly HATES tylenol. And motrin. It makes for some miserable times when she needs it.
6) I need to drink more water because I have to start leaving urine samples at the Ob next week and I don't want to be the girl with bright orange pee.
7) My computer isn't holding a charge for more than 30 minutes. What do I do?
8) I finished The Story of Edgar Sawtelle and was bummed it wasn't as great as Oprah said it was.
9) I'm so sick of not being able to see without my contacts I can hardly take it anymore. It's annoying.
10) My eczema broke out on my hand--this is a new place for it. I need a new prescription for steroid cream.
11) My rings are getting tight--already.
12) My car's a mess--inside and out.
13) I need to go to the dentist, but since our new health coverage kicked in I haven't figured out who that new dentist will be.
14) I need to buy diapers but the Costco coupon is only good if you buy both Huggies diapers AND Huggies wipes. I hate Huggies wipes, so I guess I can't use the coupon. Lame.
15) I wish we could go to Disneyland before Halloween, but I don't see it in the budget.
16) I need a budget.
17) Lilly has a runny nose and a cough--again.
18) She also won't eat anything good for her--she only wants Dora fruit snacks.
19) I hate my hair lately.
20) My bras are getting tight--already.
I'll stop there. Those are just a few of the things that are nagging at me lately. I realize they are extremely insignificant compared to what is going on in our country right now, but nevertheless, they are my issues and therefore they are real.
I love Ryan. He works too hard. Really.

Hi J. I like your blog and you. If I was your neighbor I'd probably knock on your door every day and ask if we could hang out... since you wouldn't have a cell phone I could call every day.
I think it's ok if blogging isn't #1 on your list of priorities (or even your top 5). You're blogging for your family, right? There shouldn't be any expectations.
My sister has the best-of-the-best photoshop and everytime I use it with her my head spins. It's too overwhelming for me right now. I'm still figuring out how to use my camera. I'll invest in photoshop later. Until then- you need to learn (or mabye you already know how) you BURN eyes. With you + Lilly's pretty eyes, it would be a great trick.
PS- our insurance has the same stupid generic thing. That just means I pay a million dollars a month for stupid things (like birth control- grr).
Hi Jen, I'm glad you blog. A little dose of reality is nice every once in a while.
I went to Costco this week in need of diapers, and went for the wipes too(not because we needed or wanted them), along with a whole cart load of coupon items. I got to the check out only to be informed that the coupons started on the 9'th--yeah it was the 7'th.
I bought my stuff anyways with hopes that I will get back there later this month to get the money refunded with the coupons. We'll see if that happens.
Erin- they won't give you back your money because the check the date and will see it says the 7th. I've tried it! Bummer, sorry.
Jen- I hear ya. A lot of little things are really getting to me too and certain people keep telling me to just be grateful for what I have because the country is in such a disastrous state, but nevertheless, they are hard for me and still trials. I don't even know what to tell you, but that I understand.
I wish you could make it down to Disneyland too.
Disneyland looks like SO much fun right now with all the Halloween stuff around (I haven't been, just the commercials I've seen). I want to go soon too. Maybe if you came down it wouldn't rain on us.
My laptop is doing the same thing except it won't hold a charge unplugged for more than 10 minutes. It's so annoying. I think it just means that the computer is on it's way downhill.
And I always thought about the color of the pee at the doctor too. That's funny. Which is my way of saying that you're really easy to relate to, which I like about you and makes everyone like you. I think.
I'm with you about the color of pee at the doctors.
I've a few days like that this week. I was so annoyed that I couldn't even type/post about it, so I know the feeling.
See if your budget allows for a London getaway before baby #2!
