I'm really bumming about the fact that Missy and Meggan (and all the other SoCal bloggers) are kicking it at the beach ALREADY. They're all posting such great photos of their sunny days on the shore and it hurts me inside I'm so jealous. I can almost feel the sand in between my toes and my skin soaking up the sun when I look at the pictures. So while they hurt a little, keep 'em coming!
It's been nice here, but not nice enough to hang out at the pool. I suppose we could go to the park and pretend we are at the beach, but there is just something about the waves crashing in the distance and the feel of the salt air. Not quite the same feeling at the local park. Although, it's a lovely park.
I took Lilly to Kindermusik today. She LOVES it. It's so fun to watch her reaction and interaction with the other kids and all the instruments. I'm glad we are doing it--even if it means no gym on Thursday mornings. Speaking of the gym, Lilly has gotten very attached to one of the girls who works in the nursery--Gina. In fact, whenever Gina leaves the room, or attempts to take a break, Lilly freaks out. So, Gina is on Lilly duty every day we are there. I feel sorta bad for her because she basically can't go on her break until we leave for the day. So, I've decided to give Gina a break from Lilly on Thursdays. The girls who work in the play center at our gym are amazing--they work so hard. I'd be really sad without that outlet.
I'm back on my diet. It's going pretty well. I've lost 23 lbs since I started trying way back in November. I've been trying to put a little more effort into it the last month or two. Summer is just around the corner and I'd like to be able to wear shorts. And maybe a swim suit. Maybe. I still have a long way to go, but the sunshine seems to motivate me a little more.
I've sneezed 18 times in the last 3 minutes. Something is wrong with that. Allergies, I guess. But, I don't have allergies, so who knows.
Oh, American Idol. Where do I begin? How about a break down person by person?
Jason Castro--I loved when he sang "Hallelujah" last week. Last night's song was boring. He better figure out what he's going to do because he can't keep doing the same thing each week.
Brooke White--I really like her. She's cute, has a nice voice, and always has the best outfit. Although, I did think the tears were a bit much last night. She's my favorite girl.
David Cook--He's my favorite boy. I like him. He seems real and I think he has the best voice. In fact, I'm calling it now...I think he wins the whole thing.
Carly Smithson--Well, she's good too. She might have a chance of winning too. I'd say it's between her and David Cook. She has a great voice, but I'm bugged by the fact that she already has a cd--even if the label she did it with is now defunct.
Chikezie--I don't get it. Not the name, not the performance, none of it.
David Archuleta--I don't get all the hype around him either. He's not that great. And he forgot his lyrics last night! You can't do that on American Idol!
Kristy Lee Cook--She's holding on by a very thin string. In fact, I can't believe she's still in it. She pretty much conceded last night when she asked where her microphone was before Ryan had announced who was in the bottom three. She knows she's on borrowed time. The country think just isn't working for her. None of it is.
Amanda Overmeyer--Her style isn't one of my favs, but I can appreciate her uniqueness. She's a little too Janis Joplin for me, but the judges seem to like it.
Michael Johns--The Australian/Georgian/Los Angelite. He's ok. I really liked him in the beginning of the show, but now I think he's boring. Like Jason Castro, he better figure out something...and fast.
Ramiele Malubay--Cute. I like her voice. However, I noticed something very disturbing during her performance last night...Sitting next to her parents was her "best friend," Danny Noriega. WHAT?!!? They just met! Danny gets kicked off the show and all the sudden he's in Ramiele's family circle? I think that's weird and it just goes to show that she's way too much drama--too much high school drama.
Seyesha Mercado--I think she is so, so pretty. She reminds me of every toothpaste, sugar-free gum, tic-tac commercial I've ever seen. There is just something so fresh about her. I don't think she has a chance of winning, but she's fun to watch.
David Hernandez--He's gone. I knew he wouldn't last long.
I've NEVER watched this show with this much intensity. In fact, I used to, oh...hate it. But, I've been reformed and now I like it. As Ryan would say, it's good t.v.

Your AI round-up cracks me up! I was addicted when I was pregnant (even though I swore I wasn't one of those people) and haven't really succumbed yet this season. I will see you tomorrow (Friday) and I need to give you my $$$ for the gift. I wish I was at the beach too!
I just reread this post and noticed about a million spelling/grammar mistakes. That's awsome considering I'm an English teacher.
23 pounds!! Man, I'm jealous. When are you going to blog about your weight loss tips and tricks?
Holy crap, Jen. Nice job. 23 pounds is significant.
23 pounds is awesome! Keep up the good work.
The whole Ramiele/Danny thing is way too over the top- she dedicated her song to him this week. I like most of the boys, except Chikezie and David H. who is gone so no worries. I think all the girls are kind of boring- I always want to change the channel when they are performing. Well I like Brooke but that is about it.
Ok, let's just start a little debate here because if David Cook wins AI season 7, I will not watch AI season 8. You seriously think he could win? He's like a wannabe rocker that puts so much gel in his air it sticks to the side of his face like he hasn't taken a shower in weeks.
Maybe that was mean. I liked your overview though. I actually really like Brooke W's voice. It sounds cool to me.
