As part of my wall project, I've been perusing old photo albums in search of nifty pictures to put in my frames. This one has always been one of my favorites. I'm sad to say that my dear sisters are missing, but alas, it's still a nice family photo.

We were young once. And so innocent. I think my brother looks exactly the same. He really hasn't changed a bit. Actually, everyone but me looks pretty much the same. I was probably in the first grade, so that would make this picture 25 years old or so.

The original is in color, but I turned it b&w for my decor purposes. I think I like it better in color--the colors are very rich and because it was taken in the fall, very pretty.

Anyway.

I finished Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close last night. It was an exceptional read. But...it got me all obsessed with 9/11 again (something I can't wrap my head around no matter how many years go by). I made the mistake of seeing what video youtube had from the tragic day. Big mistake. Huge. If I allow myself, I will spend hours scouring the Internet for personal pictures, accounts, anything that gives me a new perspective. It's heartbreaking really, and I wish I wouldn't do it. I think it has something to do with being so far removed from it all--no matter how much I see or read, I can't imagine the reality, but yet I'm very curious about it all.

I read it for my book club, so I'll let you know where our discussion takes us.

I love old pics.

Is there a big age gap between the two oldest and two youngest in your fam?

I LOVE old pics! This one is so classic and lovely.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close has been on list forever...I think I will read it after The Other Boleyn Girl. Have fun at book club!

Jen, you're such a cute girl! I hope one of your kids looks just like you one day. Lilly, she's a Ryan cone.

I loved that book. Glad you liked it, too.

I went to the 9/11 museum yesterday down by Ground Zero. I cry every time.
