RRR

Today is Ryan's birthday. He is 33. We are having In 'n Out for his birthday dinner--it's what he wanted. I surprised him and made "Ryan's Apple Pie." That's really what it's called. It's in a cookbook that his mom put together for her Relief Society. Remember, I'm not a cook, or a baker, so we'll see how I did with it. I also got Ryan his favorite kind of ice cream--Dryer's vanilla bean. The bean is very important--very different from plain vanilla or French vanilla. It's the only kind of ice cream he likes with his apple pie.

So, I managed to give him something without spending his money to get it. It's a miracle.

Ryan is the coolest person I know. He really is. From the moment I met him, I knew I had to find a way to be around him all the time. He has an amazing energy that is so authentic it's a little freaky sometimes. At first, his authenticity (honesty) can be a little overwhelming. But after a while, you start to appreciate it. And after a long while, you start to wonder why the rest of the world isn't as honest.

Ryan is also very intelligent. I've said it before...he knows a lot. He reads a lot. Not so much novels, but news ,and articles in all kinds of magazines. He's my go-to guy for all things I need to know about (with the one exception being home improvement).

He is such a great father. Lilly is obsessed with him. Every time we go up the stairs, we have to stop at the top so she can point and smile at the picture of her daddy. When Ryan comes home and Lilly hears his voice, she whips her head around to find him...and as soon as she sees him, she grins from ear to ear. She loves her daddy.

He's the best

Happy Birthday Ry!
I hope my apple pie is as good as your mom's. (um...it won't be)

Jen! I'm so proud of you for making that apple pie! It's such a hard recipe. And I agree, there's something about the bean in that vanilla icecream. Joses insists on it too.

Happy Birthday Ry! You are definitely honest and so should everyone else. Love ya!

The pie was phenomenal. I'll eat more tonight. A good birthday. And kind words here on my wife's blog. Jen, seriously, this week can't end soon enough.
