We're not in Kansas anymore...

Ryan's cousin Courtney and his wife Merica are visiting from Salt Lake this weekend. They used to live just down I-80 in Davis, but moved back to SLC to be closer to family a few years ago. They have two kids with A LOT of energy and it makes Ryan and I wonder if we are physically able to handle more than one child. Perhaps not. But, I can't imagine Lilly not having a sibling, so I suppose we'll have to dig deep down in our psyches for the energy we'll need.

Anyway, we decided that we'd go to the Farmer's Market in Davis with them yesterday morning--you know, to get out and experience a little small town culture and some sunshine to boot.

It was one of the strangest days we've had in a while.

Davis, and the people who live there, are weird. I'm not trying to be mean, it's simply the truth. I tell the truth about Davis being strange.

In the course of our time at the market, we saw everything from a homemade carousel that was controlled by a woman riding a bike to a older lady searching for hidden treasure in the playground. We really wanted to see her find some hidden treasure, so we started throwing coins (stealthily, of course) for her to discover. She never found them.

After a few hours, we had to leave. We didn't feel right. We didn't belong there. Davis is a strange, strange place.

The tragedy of it all is that I didn't have my camera with me.
