Students went back to school around here today. The gym was eerily quiet this morning with the absence of all the school-age kids. I love the first day of school and all of the excitement that goes along with it. New backpacks, new outfits, new rules.
I've been thinking a lot about my teaching days and my old colleagues who are starting a new semester with new students. Part of me is jealous, but a big part of me isn't. I go back and forth. I love teaching and I often find myself thinking of ways to be creative in the classroom--even though I probably won't be teaching for a while. I guess I'll have a big 'ol bag of tricks to pull from by the time I go back to work.
I'm anxious for Lilly to grow-up so I can "teach" her all kinds of fun things.
Well, I'm not that anxious for her to grow-up. But, it would be nice if she could talk--tell me what she wants or what's wrong. That would be cool.

i can't believe it is already time for school to start again! byu doesn't start for a few weeks - i am not looking forward to the influx of college students. that is good for you to start thinking about tricks for teaching - you will be way ahead of the game!!
