After a wonderful week on the shore of Delaware, it's back to reality for us. We had a great time. It was so much fun to have Missy, Devin, Avery, and Juice with us this year. I hope they join us every year!For as many times as I've been to Rehoboth, I never really get tired of it. Each year we make new memories and each year has proven to have it's own special feel. For example, this year we played an awful lot of Catch Phrase. BUT, it was awesome...each and every game. Especially the games where Brianne thought Rotunda was a beach and my dad saw genealogist when it was really geologist. AND, the game we played in the car on the way back to Dulles was fun too.

Lilly had a lot of "inside" time, as the beach really isn't her thing...yet. Next year she'll be sitting in the sand putting rocks in her pail just like Avery was this year. I can't wait for that. However, I CAN wait for that plane ride. She proved to be an excellent traveller, but she's still little and falls asleep easily. I'm not so sure we'll be so lucky next time.
I ate too many donuts on the trip and didn't work out once. I did take my work out clothes though, so I was thinking about working out. It's back to the gym for me. Especially after seeing photos of myself on the beach. Whoa.
One thing about vacationing with a baby...
It's not what you'd call relaxing to vacation with a baby. I now know what people mean when they say, "I need a vacation from my vacation." There was no hanging out on the beach for eight hours while devouring a few books I've been meaning to get to. Oh no. And, there's no sleeping in. Lilly's circadian rhythms don't jive with the true meaning of vacation. She's up and at 'em no matter where we are or what time zone we are in. Despite all the work it was to get our little family back East, it was so worth it. And thanks to my mom and my sister Shannon for taking Lilly and allowing me a few precious hours of vaca.

sounds like such a great vacation. fun times with family are the best. Lilly is getting so big! I love her cheeks. Her swimsuit (or costume as they say over here) is so so cute.
It was SO much fun Jen! I still need to post about it. But, it really was the best time. I hope we can go every year too!
I love that pic of Lilly and Ryan at the beach! Her suit is adorable. Jon and I are going to West Palm Beach in Sept. and I can't wait to bust out Georgia's Baby Gap suit for the first time. : )
