Thank goodness for the mall...

Is there anywhere else where you can eat, drink, breastfeed, buy new lip gloss, and hear Mozart all in the same place? No, I say.

And, it makes a really long day with a newborn go just a bit quicker.

Today we (Lilly and I) had a full agenda. I had to buy a refrigerator, browse a few furniture stores, drop-off dry cleaning, return a dress, and stop by our condo. It was exhausting, but we did it. We went to the Roseville Galleria so I could return a dress and noticed they are expanding that lovely mall to include 100 new stores. The best news: One of those stores will be Anthropologie--my all-time favorite store. Maybe the mall gods will put an H&M out there and then life would be just about perfect. Just about.

I'm stressing out about filing cabinets. I need to get a couple, but I'm not about to buy industrial filing cabinets--no way. I found some at Office Max that might pass as legit furniture, but I'm still debating. I've already checked Ikea, Crate & Barrel, CB2, etc., and I can't find anything I like. Although, I am horrible at making decisions, so that doesn't help my efforts any.

Our new condo will probably be a designer's worst nightmare. I have NO IDEA where to start and I'm losing sleep over it--sleep I can't afford to lose these days. I had a dream last night that I painted the walls brown with yellow spots--it was supposed to look leopardy. I HATE animal print, so I'm not sure what I was thinking in my dream. Right now, I'm leaning towards a very light grayish bluish. Who knows what I'll end up with however.

After reading about them several times, I stopped by Williams Sonoma today to pick up some Sprinkles. Apparently, they are the best cupcakes EVER and since I consider myself a cupcake connoisseur of sorts, I figured I must try them. The lame part: I have to bake them. The mix is included, but my baking skills must be added to finish them. Oh dear. This could be bad.

The rocking chair we bought at Babies R Us is making a horrible squeaking sound and has to be returned. I hate when stuff like this happens. The chair was such a hassle to get here and now it has to go back. Lame. We are going to try the same chair (but a different one...) and hopefully, there will be no sqeaking or creaking. I really like the chair, but the noises it makes are quite loud and therefore defeating the purpose of helping me get my child to calm down.

My eyes are burning and my breasts are throbbing, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Life is good.

I love the Galleria. I need to visit it soon. And they are building an H & M in Folsom, sot hat is not bad right? I can't wait to live so close to an H & M.

A few weeks ago my sister in law who lives in LA came to visit and brought me some Sprinkles (from the store). They were sooo good but a little too much frosting. She also brought me some of the mix, but I have yet to try to bake it on my own. Let me know how it goes.

Jen, please buy this from Room and Board. Maybe too Modern for you, but I LOVE them.

Miss--I do like that filing cabinet, but I need more than one drawer. And, it's a bit more than we wanted to spend.

What shall I do? Where else do I look?

Love the galleria too. and yes, I was just thinking about the mall and how everything I need to do (today) is there. So great you are getting an Anthropologie!

Fun post. I love hearing about your life! I hope we can see each other someday soon. What rocking chair did you get?

Ok, this one is pricey, but the double one is BIG and could hold all of Ryan's work stuff/taxes/baby warranty tags.

People, stop encouraging her.

We're in need of CUTTING SPENDING. You're not helping when you encourage increased spending.

So, I hope H&M and Anthropologie go out of business soon.

Jen, you'll furnish the new place like every other good family in the world: SLOWLY.

I don't know why the urgency to get this done asap.

We just talked about this, but screw it, I'll write it hear, too.

Sincerely,
the guy who's stranded at work
