We went to the doctor yesterday and found out that I have early symptoms of preeclampsia. They are mainly concerned with my blood pressure--it has been running higher my last couple of appointments. I had some blood tests done, which came back fine, but my Dr. is going to have me go in for non-stress tests twice a week until I deliver. If the preeclampsia symptoms worsen, they'll induce me.
I go in for my first non-stress test tomorrow.
My Dr. assured me it's nothing to freak out about--they are watching me closely and the non-stress tests coupled with my regular weekly appointments has me either in their office or at the hospital a total of 3 times a week. I feel pretty safe.

They are right, nothing to freak out about. Now, had you had early preeclampsia syptoms back in November or so, that would be something to worry about. YOu are quite lucky. Don't forget to take some maxi pads to the hospital, although I don't have first hand experience, but I really don't want Ry to have to make a target run and stand in the feminie product isle for more than 10 minutes trying to pick some out for you!!!! your welcome ry!!
Stacy
If you do happen to forget the hospital will give you some that will stretch from your belly button to the small of you back and run you about $12.00 a pop.
It is nice to feel so watched over - although going to the doctor 3 times a week is a bit of a hassle, at least you know your baby is being closely monitored!
Jennifer,
You're getting close that's for sure.
Hey just a quick question, the blog under "friendly blogs" titled "Jen in Redding", who is that?
Nadia-- "Jen in Redding" is Jennifer Brown--she's a co-worker and friend of my mom's.
You're fine. I had preeclampsia with Savannah, but they had to induce me at 34 weeks. You are already at full term, so there is nothing to worry about. Especially if they are watching you now. Your BP will go up as you near your due date as well. Hang in there. You're almost there :) I was going to the Dr.s daily for about 3 weeks...It is well worth it in the end.
