Nothing...

I'm still here.

And, I'm still pregnant.

It's apparent that patience is NOT one of my best characteristics.

We had a very laid back weekend--lot's of sleeping and lounging. Ryan did have me out walking, which was nice since the weather has been so great. He's getting just as impatient as I am and really wanted me to jog most of our walk tonight, but I convinced him I couldn't do it. I'm too heavy.

Over the last two weeks or so, our grocery bill has tripled. I'm eating us to the poor house. I really can't get enough food. I'm hungry all of the time and I'm eating things I've never really been that into before. For instance, I've managed to go through 3 boxes of cereal in the last week and a half and up until now, I've NEVER been a cereal eater. I also can't get enough apples or grapes--red ones. I'm into Pop Tarts and baked Lay's too. And quesadillas...I've been making those almost daily.

I'm also still slowly losing my mind.

What- not a cereal fan? I could eat it for every meal. I think I go through at least 3 boxes by myself each week.

I hope she will come soon!!

I heard that drinking castor oil induces labor. Either that, or having sex...but who knows if rumors are really true. I am not sure I am willing to drink castor oil to find out if it works or not. gross.

come to walnut creek, I'll take you to skipolini's which is a pizza place with a famous "pregnant pizza". apparently, pregnant women close to delivery eat it and go into labor within a day?????

It is a scientific fact that semen contains ocytocin which is what gets your contractions going. If you are already having contractions 8 minutes apart, it will get them coming stronger and closer together. I know you're about as uncomfortable as you can get right now, but please just do it so you can meet your daughter!

Soon you will be a Mom, how exciting. I hope you have family coming to help you once the baby is born so you can take a shower and a nap! Good luck. You will be a wonderful mom.

Use a turkey baster if you have to.

Have sex to induce your labor (Sperm is a natural prostaglandin which is used to induce labor in the hospital) but DO NOT drink castor oil. It can be very dangerous to your health as well as you unborn baby's. Trust me, I've been a labor and delivery RN for 9 years. Good Luck!

Jen, I am Meggan's friend. She thought I wrote the above anonymous comment, while I didn't, I do agree with what she said. Castor oil is dangerous for the baby. There is prostaglandin (not oxytocin, Megg) in semen, but, seriously, no one wants to have sex at the point that you are at. Walking can help your contractions get closer, if you are having them semi-regularly. I would also add trying a warm bath. If you aren't in labor, it will make your contractions space out and you'll feel a bit more comfortable. AND, if you are in labor it can help your body relax just enough to let your cervix dilate a bit more. It worked beautifully with my last baby.

Hang in there! It is miserable being 9 1/2 months pregnant, but you do get a wonderful prize at the end. Good luck!
