It just keeps getting better...

Ok.

I had my 39 week appointment today and we learned a few things...

First of all, Lilly might be a rather LARGE baby. They are sending me in for an ultrasound today around 2pm to see just how big she is. If she's too big, my doctors will call me and schedule a c-section.

We also learned that I don't seem to be all that close to delivering on my own. My cervix hasn't dilated anymore than a centimeter over the last three weeks. Lame.

I'm not sure what I think about all of this. It's not how I imagined the last few weeks of my first pregnancy to go, but as long as Lilly arrives safe, I guess it doesn't really matter.

if you have a c-section now, does that mean if you another baby in the future, it has to be delivered by c-section too? How does that work?

I don't know whether to hope Lilly is big so you can have her now, or hope she is small and wait it out. I am guessing you would like sooner then later... Keep us posted!

don't you mean a centimeter?? An inch is quite large to be dialating... look at the bright side of a c-section..do what the celebrities do and have a tummy tuck at the same time!!!

My sister had a c-section her first baby but was able to deliver the rest of her kids. Good luck Jen I have said this a million times but I hope she comes soon!

A c-section is a walk in the park. After having my bouncing tumor delivered by c-section last March I have a titch of an idea. :0) Cutting through the stomach muscles makes it so you'll have to use a pillow to cough, sneeze or laugh for a bit but just think on the postive side...no cone head and you have a scheduled date. SOMETHING to look forward to!
