A few months into our marriage, Ryan decided he wanted to get this. I was SHOCKED at the price of such a common household necessity. He had me read this article on Slate and then he had me head over to Costco to purchase our new vacuum. As I was signing the credit card receipt, I had, for what might have been the first time EVER IN MY LIFE, buyer's remorse. I remember thinking of all the other things we could get for the amount of money we were paying for a vacuum cleaner and feeling sick to my stomach.
Fast forward 2 1/2 years later.
I LOVE OUR VACUUM CLEANER. It's the most amazing piece of machinery. It just sucks and sucks, and sucks. I love seeing all the junk it's sucking up. I love the cool tools it has and I love that it's British.
We've told everyone we know how much we love it and we've even convinced a few people to go out and get one. I think you can find them at Costco and Target now for much less than what we paid a few years ago. Figures.

I am obsessed with that vacuum and have dreams we can afford it at night. Even if the price has dropped, I can't convince Ben it's worth the money. I despise vacuuming with our current crappy one and am convinved I will want to vacuum everyday if I only had a Dyson. Someday when I am pregnant though I will buy one no matter what so that my carpet will be child proof (although I would prefer to just live somewhere that had no carpet, I hate carpet, especially since I rent). Ha okay this was long enough!
Ok, I'll admit that I was drawn to this vacuum cleaner ever since I heard the creator's beautiful English accent in the commercials. It is crazy to spend so much money, but really if you think about it, do you want your baby crawling around in a dirty carpet? Gross. Someday I will purchase one...when we aren't on a student budget.
I too, used to hate to vacume and then when I moved, I bought this really cool one where you can see it sucking and now I love to vacume!!
