I was just perusing Ryan's blog and noticed--for the first time--that he has an awful lot of links on his blog. Most of them are links to news and government sites he visits daily. I clicked on Coudal and a whole new world opened before my very eyes--a world filled with all kinds of interesting, cultural information that I feel giddy about devouring over the next few days.This is what Coudal says their site is all about...
The site is about British novelist Zadie Smith reading Frank O'Hara's poem Animals into our answering machine. It's about Steve driving from Iowa listening to nothing but Dancing Queen. It's about Abelardo Morell turning hotel rooms into pinhole cameras. It's about the Dane drinking tea and the owner of the yellow house smoking Dunhills. It's about the rules of cricket, a cartoon Sasquatch, counting to three, crashing airliners full of dummies and breaking all the commandments before breakfast. Or maybe it's about a guy named Stanley, a building by Mies, George Saunders at the library, a chalkboard in the washroom or a museum full of museums.
Awesome.
And then, just when I thought life couldn't get any better, I linked to this.
Who is the genius who thought of this? I'd like to shake his or her hand. And why..why couldn't it have been me?
The MoOM (Museum of Online Museums) is a gem of site. I've only just begun my excavation of the multitude of layers, but this is one of the coolest things I've seen on it yet...I guess it's the small-town girl in me coming out. I think the one I posted above is my favorite.
ps...I have no patience to figure out why the second half of my post is in tiny font. I tried to fix it, but I can't. Lame.
