1. Ryan is funny. He's not just one of those people who occasionally says something funny--he's funny and witty without even trying. It's simply part of who he is. His wit and humor are unmatchable. I love when he laughs--his laugh is infectious.
2. Ryan is smart. Oh, so smart. I cannot even begin to describe this man's scope of intelligence. He may not be able to put IKEA furniture together (he can, actually), but he can spout off ANYTHING about California politics. And he can pipe up about the latest articles in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Atlantic Monthly, The Economist...you get the point. He knows a lot about a lot of stuff. I feel smarter just being around him.
3. Ryan IS NOT boring. This is one of my favorite things about him. From the second I met him in the church parking lot 5 years ago (he can't remember this meeting and therefore doesn't count it as our first meeting), I knew there was something different about him. Way back in 2001 when we first started hanging out as friends, he was constantly coming up with crazy and great things to do. Magic Mountain on a whim, 24 hour running relays, quick trips to S.F. just for dinner in North Beach, late night movies on weekdays, Kings games...just because we can. Even now, after more than two years of being married, he still keeps me guessing with trips to the spa, fun and friend-filled roadtrips, interesting conversation, amazing vacations, and what will sure to be an interesting child to mother. I look forward to seeing him and hearing what he has to say everyday. I still get excited when I turn the corner in our apartment complex driveway and see that he is home!
I can't describe how amazing he is on this blog--there's not enough room. If you know Ryan, you know EXACTLY how great he is and how undescribable he is at the same time.
I tell him everyday how much I love him--he often says I'm obsessed with him. I'm not ashamed to admit that I am--I am obsessed with him. He's a rock star in my book. He's the husband version of a rock star. Of course I'm obsessed.
Happy Birthday!

Devaughn knows a lot about a lot of things too. I love that my canadian husband knows more about my country than I do. Who would have ever guessed we would marry those kinds of guys 10 years ago? Love you babe.
