My first official food cravings...

I've never been one to really believe the mumbo-jumbo about pregnant women and their food cravings.

Until recently.

I NEVER order pasta at restaurants--there's always something I would rather have more. But, last weekend, Ryan and I went out before we saw Miami Vice (which we really liked, btw) and I couldn't stop thinking about pasta. I wanted it.

Last night, I was perusing the pantry looking for some dinner when all of the sudden, I couldn't stop thinking about--here it comes--Cup 'O Noodles. Can you believe that? Who eats those things?

Today, I've been dreaming about a turkey sandwich from Boudin's Bakery. The problem here is that Boudin's is a local sourdough bakery in San Francisco, so I'm not sure how or when I'm going to be getting that sandwich. Ryan's been working out of the SF office this week, but by the time he got the sandwich to me it would be gross. I'm seriously contemplating going to work with him tomorrow just so I can get the sandwich.

I no longer like leftovers. I tried to eat them yesterday and I couldn't. This is a huge deal for me. I've never had a problem with leftovers before, in fact, I've always loved leftovers. No more.

There is this bakery near my house called Paradise Bakery and it is the bomb. They make the BEST ham and swiss sandwichs on this amazing ciabatta bread. I crave them all the time. Plus they give you a chocolate chip cookie with every sandwich, which are also quite delicious.

No worries, your love of left overs will return. But probably not for a couple of months. Then it might go away again. For me sometimes nothing would sound good and I would have to force a few bites down my gullet then my appetite for whatever I was eating would come. But yes the whole craving thing is a reality. Just not the way they show it in the movies, you know, kicking the husband out of bed to get the pint of ice cream and all that nonsense. I craved corn dogs with a lot of mustard. But that's the only thing I can remember craving.

Too bad everything tasted good to me when I was pregnant. It was a full time job gaining 70 pounds. I craved root beer the most.

I never had cravings when I was pregnant, but a number of foods just never sounded good to me.

Um, to Jen's sister Bri - I LOVE Paradise Bakery. Had in AZ. Have to admit, it's their cookies I love the best.

I'm all about turkey sandwiches on sourdough bread--I can't get enough of them.

We have a Paradise Bakery in our mall--well, we did until it moved to the new, yuppie mall out in Roseville.
