Friends...
I'm embarking on a few home improvement projects this weekend. Well, I guess they would be more like apartment improvement projects, if you want to get specific. I ordered slipcovers for our couches which are adorned with a not-so-lovely Santa Feish theme. They are in good condition though, so I'm working with them. We really don't have a choice, actually.
Anyway, my project will include the use of a sewing machine. Yes, I will be sewing this weekend. I do want to say here that I have sewed before. In fact, I made the comforter cover that is on our marriage bed now. It turned out pretty good, I think. Since they didn't make a slipcover for our ottoman, I'm going to create one. And, I'm going to make new covers for the couch pillows. I could just get new ones, but they are still in great shape and they are the perfect stiffness for propping up to watch TV. They will stay, but get a makeover.
I will sew the following things...
1. Ottoman cover
2. 2 pillow covers
If that goes well, I will be attempting to stain a dresser we don't use because we can't get the drawers out. That will include some sanding, which I don't have too much experience with, but I'm sure it will be fine.
I'm including a before picture...let's hope the after pictures tell a nice story.
